What Does A Catholic School Community Look Like?
At Notre Dame Academy, a Catholic school community looks like students learning alongside one another, families building relationships and teachers partnering with parents to help each child grow. But it also looks beyond our school walls.
A Catholic education invites students to understand that they are part of something larger than themselves. Through everyday experiences, they learn to serve others, care for their community, embrace responsibility and become thoughtful stewards of the world around them.
This fall, six moments give our students and families opportunities to experience and grow together.

Marathon: Learning the Joy of Giving Back
The Marathon brings our community together around a shared purpose and gives students a tangible opportunity to experience the impact of generosity. By participating, they begin to understand that their time, energy and efforts can make a difference for others. While they obtain the opportunity to learn what service means to them, it also becomes something they can experience.

Picture Day: Knowing You Belong
Picture Day may seem like a simple school tradition, but it reminds students that they each have a place in our community. Every child brings unique gifts, personality and perspective to NDA. Together, those individual stories become part of something larger.
Slow Road will be taking our pictures again this year.

Conferences: Growing Through Partnership
A child’s growth is strengthened when teachers and families work together. Conferences create space to celebrate progress, identify opportunities and support each child’s development. Students benefit from adults who are connected and invested in helping them become their best selves.
Confernce sign ups are available on the Parent Resources Page.

Eagle Bluff: Growing Together
At Eagle Bluff, students step beyond the familiar and experience the value of teamwork, independence and encouragement. They learn that growth often happens when we challenge ourselves, rely on others and recognize our responsibility to the group.

Halloween: Making Room for Joy and Tradition
Community is also built through moments of joy. Halloween gives students an opportunity to celebrate together, create memories and experience traditions that connect generations of families. These moments remind us that belonging includes both purpose and play.

MEA: Making Space for Family and Reflection
MEA offers a welcome change of pace, even when life and work continue. With Lions Lair available on most MEA days, families have flexibility to create a rhythm that works for them, whether that means time together, time with friends or a regular workday for parents. Teachers, too, use this time for important work behind the scenes as they prepare for the months ahead. For our students, the pause from the classroom offers an opportunity to rest, recharge and spend meaningful time with family and friends, returning to school refreshed and ready to continue growing together.
From service to celebration, partnership to personal growth, these moments help shape more than a student’s school experience. They help students understand what it means to be a member of a community and, ultimately, a steward of the world beyond.
At Notre Dame Academy, students are known, supported and encouraged to use their gifts in service of something greater than themselves. Learn more about our Catholic school community and discover how an NDA education can help your child grow in faith, character and confidence for the world ahead.
