A Much Loved Tradition – Grandparents/VIP Day at NDA!
Here at NDA, we LOVE our grandparents! Probably not as much as their grandkids do, but pretty close. Once a year, we take the opportunity to thank our grandparents and special adults for all they do for our students and our school community. For the last 12 years, we have celebrated them with a prayer service, a concert from all of our grades, and a reception with delicious snacks.
This cherished event starts with a heartwarming prayer service, which sets a reflective and appreciative tone for the day. The service includes readings and prayers that highlight the important role grandparents and special adults play in the lives of our students. Following the service, our students from all grades perform a variety of musical pieces. These performances are always a highlight, showcasing the talents of our students and their dedication to making this day special for their loved ones.
After the concert, we host a reception where grandparents and special adults can enjoy a selection of delicious snacks. This is a wonderful time for everyone to relax, socialize, and connect. Our students love showing their grandparents around the school, sharing their classroom experiences, and introducing them to their friends and teachers. The reception also provides an excellent opportunity for grandparents to mingle with each other and share their experiences.
Grandparents/VIP Day at NDA is more than just a celebration; it’s a testament to the strong sense of community and family that we foster at our school. The event is meticulously planned and executed, ensuring that every guest feels valued and appreciated. From the beautifully decorated venues to the thoughtfully curated program, every detail is designed to honor the contributions and love of our grandparents and special adults.

In addition to the formal activities, we often have photo booths set up where students and their grandparents can take pictures together. These photos serve as lovely keepsakes of the day and are a big hit with everyone. We also encourage grandparents to leave messages or notes for their grandchildren, which are cherished and often displayed in the classrooms.
Grandparents/VIP Day is a testament to the vibrant community at NDA. It’s a day filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments.
