Marathon

Participants will raise money for NDA by collecting donations and prayer intentions from family, friends and neighbors. This important fundraiser is one of the ways to help offset the gap between what is paid in tuition and the actual cost to educate a child. Student participants obtain donations from sponsors, and then walk or run the Marathon route at NDA. Our goal this year is to raise $45,000. All monetary proceeds collected by the participants and sponsors are given directly to the school.

Students can also collect prayer intentions that will be prayed for at a school Mass and then brought to the Shrine of our Lady of Champion by the 8th Graders. These intentions will be prayed for at the Shrine over the next year.

The students will walk and/or run the route together on school grounds (approximately one-half mile each lap) beginning at 2:30 p.m. for about 45 minutes. We are excited for them to participate regardless of their ability to collect donations.

How To Collect Intentions and Donations

We ask you to discuss with your children your rules for safety regarding asking sponsors for intentions and donations. Encourage them to ask family, friends, neighbors or other people the students already know. Consider contacting coaches, parishioners, and alumni of NDA. Write out a personal message about your school to share with your family, friends, and neighbors or create a short video to share with out-of-town friends and family and encourage them to donate online!

Ask sponsors who make a donation if their employer will match their donation. This is an easy way to increase your donation and every gift matters! Be sure to tell your sponsors their donations are tax deductible. NDA will mail tax receipts for donations over $100.

Students with cash or check donations may turn in their Marathon envelope multiple times in the weeks leading up to Marathon or ask sponsors to donate online. As we work towards our final goal, we will have incentives attached to all school prizes.

• $15,000 – Everyone receives a Marathon t-shirt
• $25,000 – Friday Spirit Wear Days
• $35,000 – Ice Cream Truck Visit
• $45,000 – A Surprise from Fr. John and Fr. Paul

Fall Family Festival

After our Marathon, we will celebrate with families during our Marathon Fall Family Festival, hosted by our Home and School Committee. The family event will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 4:15-6:30 p.m. on the playground parking lot.
